Lavrov Praises Pakistan’s Role in Facilitating US–Iran Dialogue
As stated by reports, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made the remarks during a phone conversation with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The Pakistani Foreign Ministry said Lavrov acknowledged Islamabad’s efforts in supporting communication between Washington and Tehran.
The two officials also discussed broader bilateral relations and cooperation within multilateral platforms, with an emphasis on supporting international peace and stability. Dar, in turn, reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to encouraging diplomacy and dialogue as a means of addressing regional and global disputes.
According to the statement, both sides also reviewed plans to reschedule a previously postponed visit by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Russia. The trip, originally planned for early March, was delayed due to regional and domestic circumstances, and a new date is expected to be arranged through mutual agreement. Dar also extended an invitation for Lavrov to visit Pakistan.
The call comes as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi begins a regional tour that includes visits to Pakistan, Oman, and Russia, as reported by Iranian media.
