Iran’s Foreign Minister Begins Regional Tour to Pakistan, Oman, Russia
As stated by reports, the visit is intended to hold bilateral consultations and exchange views on regional developments, including the ongoing conflict situation and broader geopolitical tensions.
Araghchi also wrote on the social media platform X that the purpose of his trip is to strengthen coordination with regional partners. “Purpose of my visits is to closely coordinate with our partners on bilateral matters and consult on regional developments,” he said, adding: “Our neighbors are our priority.”
Ahead of the tour, Iran and Pakistan engaged in a series of high-level diplomatic contacts.
Araghchi held a phone call with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, where discussions reportedly focused on regional developments, the ceasefire situation, and ongoing diplomatic initiatives.
He also held separate talks with Pakistan’s army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, although no further details were made public.
According to Pakistani government sources cited by reports, Araghchi is expected to arrive in Islamabad as part of the tour, with Islamabad actively working to facilitate efforts aimed at restarting a second round of Iran–US talks.
