Iran’s FM Is Expected in Pakistan as US–Iran Talks Progress Seen
The sources indicated that, following recent consultations involving Pakistan’s mediation team, there is expectation that a new phase of talks between Washington and Tehran could be held in Islamabad. “Following important discussions with the Pakistani mediation team, a second round of Islamabad peace talks between the United States and Iran is expected,” the sources said.
Preparations for the possible negotiations are reportedly already underway, with a US logistics and security team present in Islamabad to assist with arrangements.
Earlier in the day, Araghchi held a phone call with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to discuss regional developments, the ceasefire situation, and ongoing diplomatic efforts. According to the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, Dar stressed the need for sustained dialogue to resolve outstanding disputes and strengthen regional stability, while Araghchi praised Pakistan’s “constructive” involvement in facilitating engagement.
As stated by reports, the call marked the third conversation between the two ministers since Sunday, reflecting intensified diplomatic activity aimed at bringing the US and Iran back to the negotiating table for further talks intended to ease tensions.
