NORTHLAKE, IL, UNITED STATES, September 4, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- SIG announced today that it has once again been formally recognized by the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) for meeting the highest criteria established under the APR Design^® Guide for Plastics Recyclability. This recognition applies to the bag-in-box package featuring SIG Terra RecShield D laminate and the SIG Terra Versi Connect 1900. The combination offers a closed-loop dispensing solution designed for the safe, precise, and economical dosing of liquid products. Its simple screw-on connectors support mistake-proof operation, making it ideal for pump-out applications where controlled dosing is required. This marks another milestone in SIG’s journey to create designed for recycling packaging solutions across multiple formats and applications.

The newly recognized bag-in-box solution has been specifically designed for use across a wide range of non-food applications, including cleaning chemicals, floor cleaners, and other liquid household and industrial products. It provides customers with a packaging solution that combines the durability, barrier performance, and dispensing functionality required for these demanding applications with design compatibility for the North American polyethylene recycling stream.

This latest innovation joins SIG’s growing portfolio of APR Design^® Recognized solutions, including bag-in-box packaging for water (SIG Terra RecShield PE-42B, 2021), post-mix syrup (SIG Terra RecShield D, 2024), wine (SIG Terra RecShield BD with SIG Terra FlexTap, 2025), and spouted pouch (SIG Terra RecShield BD laminate, 2026).

APR Design^® for Recyclability Recognition provides third-party validation that a package or packaging component’s design is compatible with the North American recycling system. The newly recognized bag-in-box package was evaluated against the most stringent, industry-accepted criteria and validated through the APR’s Critical Guidance Protocol (FPE-CG-01), confirming compatibility of the fully converted package, including flexible film, evacuation device and dispensing fitment, with the polyethylene recycling stream.
